#045. Spring Cleaning

We began our spring cleaning here at Bidulki Judan and came across an old article about MINT's 1st year anniversary event! Back in 2009, we had invited the President of Flou and his wife to help our clients and guests learn about how Flou can help you get the rest you need to function to your fullest the next day. We were overwhelmed by all of the support we received from all of our clients. More people showed up than we had expected and we all had a great time enjoying the hanbok fashion show, catered food, and great presentation about the "Art of Sleeping".

I cannot believe that it has already been almost 4 years since the expansion of Bidulki Judan. We have grown so much during the last few years and are in the midst of planning a spectacular event to celebrate Mint's 5 year anniversary! There will be more details closer to the date of the event.

#042. Meet Our Chief Designer!

We always talk about our products but today, I would like to introduce you to Jeoung, our chief designer and founder of Bidulki Judan. When she first came to America in 1984, her dream was to attend FIT in New York to continue her education in fashion. However, this dream came to a screeching halt when she found out she was pregnant. She was unable to attend but there is a reason for everything, right?  

So, now what? Pregnant. At home. Nothing to do. She decided to attempt creating a hanbok. She saw it done a million times when she was living in Korea (the hanbok industry had been in the family for over 30 years at that time). After her first creation, she started making and selling hanboks from home. Success! 

In 1985, she opened up her own business carrying on our family business name, Bidulki Judan (큰비둘기 혼례방 in Korean). She sold custom-made hanboks and bedding to hundreds of couples since her opening day. We decided to go through all of her log books and she made an outstanding 4,000+ hanboks since 1985! Success!
