#039. Duetto in Elle Decor Magazine!
We are proud to announce that our Duetto bed by Flou has been listed as one of the top 10 daybeds in Elle Decor magazine!
A certain glamour accompanies the daybed and its many iterations, including the chaise longue and recamier. (The latter even takes its name from the alluring socialite reclining in a Jacques-Louis David painting.) Sized for one, the daybed implies ample leisure time as well as space—after all, it’s yet another spot to stretch out, beyond the sofa and bed. “A daybed represents the good life,” says designer Jean-Louis Deniot. “It’s about being relaxed in company.” With its strong horizontal lines, it can break up the monotony of a living room, he adds. “It’s one more ingredient you can inject into a decor to avoid the hotel-lobby look.”
For interior decorator Mary McDonald, the piece’s laid-back vibe is complemented by its versatility. A contemporary-style daybed can connect two sitting areas: “Because it usually has no back, people can sit on either side.” And where space is tight, a plush one can multitask, she says, as the daybed transitions into a guest bed at night.
